Watermelon - Sabja Popsicle

Popsicle is one of the easiest way to beat the heat instead of buying ice-cream during summer season. Popsicle can be prepared with any varieties of juices like orange, lemon, watermelon, mango etc. In my today's recipe, I have used sabja seeds along with watermelon juice to cool the body. Sabja seeds is also called as Tulsi seeds which also has a resemblance of chia seeds is an excellent ingredient to consume during summer. It reduces body heat, helps in weight loss, good for diabetics, constipation and acidity.

Ingredients :

2 1/2 Cups Watermelon Juice  ( Fresh )
2 Tbsp Castor sugar ( Optional )
1 Tsp Sabja seeds / Basil seeds

Method :

Soak sabja seeds in a half cup of water and keep it aside for 30 minutes or till the seeds swollen up to twice it's size. ( The seeds should immerse in water ).

Mix watermelon juice, sugar and the soaked sabja seeds in a bowl.

Pour the juice in a Popsicle mould and freeze it over night or till it get frozen.

Once done, de-mould the watermelon popsicle and serve chill.

Note :

Do not try to de mould the ice from Popsicle mould immediately after taking out from freezer. Rest it for 5 minutes or directly show it to a running water which makes the ice to come out easily along with the Popsicle stick.

A bowl of home made Ice cream and my favorite blogging is a true bliss for me. Tried this Ice cream yesterday with just 4 ingredients, which is readily available in the market. Adapted this recipe from Good Food Magazine but made few changes in the ingredient and method. And it turned out awesome and flavorful. The mild crunchiness from peanut butter gives a yummy texture on each bite which is truly divine.
Easy to prepare but need lots of patience to get the perfect texture of Ice cream.

Nothing can give more happiness like enjoying homemade Ice cream with our family members, right ?  Here comes the recipe of this delicious n melting homemade peanut butter ice cream :)

Strawberry Kulfi

Can you imagine summer without Ice creams and Kulfis??

No way...we all run behind such recipes to cool our body and beat the heat. Drinking tender coconut and increasing our intake of water will naturally cool our body but kids are more fascinated over store made Ice creams/Kulfis. Instead, preparing homemade kulfis with fresh Ingredients will give a complete satisfaction & happiness of serving them a healthy recipe and of course, kids also get satisfied with their loved ones.

Tried these recipe of my own for "5 Ingredients Fix Challenge" hosted by Lakshmi Vimala and the ingredients given for our challenge was "Cream", "Honey", "Walnuts", "Fresh Strawberry" and "Chocolate".

Considering my little "strawberry & Ice cream" lover at home, prepared these kulfis with the above ingredients. It tasted very creamy because of the addition of cream, milk powder and condensed milk. Fresh flavor of strawberries and mild taste of honey made it more tastier and also the crunchiness of crushed walnuts in each bite added extra delicious to kulfis.

Here comes the recipe....

Ingredients :

  • 6 Fresh strawberries
  • 200 gms Fresh cream
  • 3 Tbsp Milk powder
  • 1/4 Cup Milkmaid
  • 1/4 Cup Honey
  • 3 Tbsp walnuts, crushed
  • 2 Tbsp Chocochips

Method :

  • Take fresh cream in a large bowl and blend using blender.
  • Add fresh strawberries and blend again.
  • Now add Milkmaid followed by milk powder and honey, mix well.
  • Add Chocochips and crushed walnuts to the creamy mixture and mix well.
  • Pour into kulfi moulds and freeze it for couple of hours.
  • Insert long stick(barbeque stick / Kulfi stick) in the middle of kulfi pan and freeze it for 5-6 hours or overnight.
  • Once it got freezed, remove and de-mould kulfi carefully.
  • Serve chill.
