Tofu - Mushroom Burji Bun Pizza


Are you craving for pizza and no pizza base at home ? No worries, try this quick and tasty pizza using bun. Any variety of buns like sweet or burger buns can be used for this recipe. And also no oven is required for this recipe. Tofu - Mushroom Burji Bun Pizza is also a perfect party snack and also a great evening snack for kids when they are back home from school. Burji is prepared using Tofu and mushroom along with the spices. Paneer can also be included instead of Tofu, if you are allergic to soya products. The base is prepared by pressing the bun using flat masher. It helps to get a thick base which is similar to pizza. Then, the prepared burji is placed on top of bun pizza base along with the generous quantity of cheese and cooked again on a dosa tawa.

Ingredients :

4 Buns ( Sweet or Burger Buns ) 
2 Tbsp Oil 
2 Onions, finely chopped 
2 Tomatoes, finely chopped 
2 Green chillies, finely chopped 
1/2 Cup Bell pepper / Capsicum ( Coloured ), finely chopped 
Salt to taste 
1/2 Cup Mushroom, finely chopped 
1/2 Cup Tofu, grated 
1 1/2 Tbsp All purpose seasoning ( pizza seasoning ) 
6 - 8 Tbsp Butter 


Method :

Heat dosa pan, brush little butter and place the bun on it. ( Cook on a lower flame )

Press the top part of the bun using masher to make it like pizza base.

Once the bun turn flat like pizza base, remove from the dosa pan and repeat the process for the remaining buns. Keep aside.

Heat oil in a pan and add chopped onions.

Saute till it turns translucent and add chillies followed by tomatoes.

Saute until it turns soft and add capsicum followed by mushroom, tofu and salt.

Cook until the mushroom gets cooked and add all purpose seasoning.

Toss well and remove from the flame.

Now fill the bun base with the prepared filling and generously spread grated cheese on top of it.

Now heat dosa pan and brush little butter.

Place the prepared bun pizza and cover it with the lid until the cheese starts melting.

Once done, remove from the pan and sprinkle pizza seasoning along with chilli flakes.

Serve hot.


Serving Options :

Serve with Tomato sauce.

Potato stuffed cheesy crust pizza


Hope you all doing good Friends :) Back to blogging after a short break and I really missed my blogging and lots of delicious recipes of my friends. My life has become very busy with new commitments and am trying my best to be regular on my passion field. Please do shower your love and encouragement like before with your valuable comments.
And coming to Today's recipe, Prepared this delicious Innovative pizza for a competition few days back. It tasted very delicious and yummy.

Here is my Innovative Pizza...

Ingredients :

1 ½ Cup Maida / All purpose Flour
1 Tsp Instant yeast
1 Tsp Salt
! Tbsp olive oil
½ Cup Water

1 Cup Tomato Sauce
1 Tbsp pizza seasoning

3 Potatoes
200 gms Mozzarella cheese, grated (1/2 Cup for crust and remaining for pizza)

1 Medium Green Bell pepper, sliced
1 Medium Yellow Bell pepper, sliced
2 Potatoes, Cut into cube shaped
2 Tsp Oil

Method :

Take large bowl and add Maida/All purpose flour followed by yeast, salt and oil.

Add water little by little and knead well to form dough.

Now place the dough in greased pan and cover it with damp cloth or cling foil.

Rest it for 3-4 hours or until it gets doubled.

Knead again and divide the dough into two balls. Keep aside.

Heat 2 Tsp oil in a pan and add the cube shaped potatoes.


Pan sear them and remove from the flame. Keep aside.

Boil 3 potatoes in a pressure cooker and grate it after it gets cooled.

Take grated potatoes in a small bowl and add 1/2 cup grated Mozzarella cheese.


Mix well and keep aside.

Take one ball from the dough and roll it using rolling pin into large circle (like chapathi / Roti).


Now place the rolled dough in a baking plate and fill the grated potato – cheese mixture in the corners leaving ½ inch dough.


Now close or seal the edges and keep aside.



Place the potato stuffed rolled pizza on a pizza baking plate. (I have covered a round cake tin pan using Aluminium foil and used the base for baking pizza ).


Take Tomato sauce in a small bowl and add mixed pizza seasoning.


Mix well and spread it on the pizza dough.


Now sprinkle cheese on top of tomato sauce.


Place green bell peppers, yellow bell peppers and pan seared potatoes.


Sprinkle some more grated cheese and bake it for 20 minutes at 180 degree Celsius. ( I have used microwave convection mode)


Once done, remove from the oven and repeat the process for remaining dough.


Season it with pizza seasoning and serve hot with Tomato sauce.




Serving Options :

Serve hot with Tomato sauce.

Corn Pizza


Pizza is an oven baked flat bread which is topped with Tomato sauce, veggies or meat
and cheese. It is a fascinating food which is liked by all ages and when it is home made, the pleasure is immeasurable and completely healthy. Just a couple of hours preparation will gives an delicious pizza with yummy topping of our choice. And I have used only limited toppings in this pizza as it goes to our favorite challenge "Shhh Cooking Secretly Challenge". Everyone must be familiar about this famous challenge happening among bloggers and priya suresh from "priya's Versatile Recipes" is our brain child of this group.

I was paired with Nirmala Gurunadhan from "nimmuguru.blogspot.in " and the two secret Ingredients which I got was corn and Tomatoes. So keeping this two ingredients in my mind, prepared this delicious veg pizza. Thanks to priya suresh, our brain child of "shhh cooking secretly" and Nirmala Gurunadhan :)

Ingredients :

  • 1 1/2 Cups All purpose flour / Maida
  • 3/4 Tsp Instant Yeast
  • 1 Tsp Salt
  • 1/2 Cup Water
  • 1 Tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 Cup Tomato sauce
  • 1 Tbsp Pizza seasoning
  • 1/2 - 1 Cup Corn kernels
  • 15 Cocktail Gherkins
  • 1 Cup Grated cheese ( Mozzarella )
  • 2 Onions, sliced

Method :

  • Add All purpose flour, yeast, salt and olive oil in a bowl.
  • Add water little by little and mix well to form a dough.
  • Grease a bowl with olive oil and place the dough.
  • Cover it with a damp cloth or cling foil and keep aside till it gets doubled.
  • Once it gets doubled, knead and divide the dough into 3 equal balls.
  • Meanwhile, take tomato sauce in a bowl and add pizza seasoning. Mix well.
  • Take one dough and roll into small circle using rolling pin.
  • Spread the tomato sauce and arrange sliced onions followed by gherkins and corn kernels.
  • Sprinkle the grated cheese and bake it in a pre -nheated oven for 15-20 minutes at 200 degree C.
  • Remove and Repeat the procedure for the remaining dough.
  • Serve hot with Tomato Sauce.
