Spicy Fried Idly

My today's post is all about a yummy n spicy breakfast - " SPICY FRIED IDLY "

These spicy fried ones can be prepared from the leftover idlis. Very simple but tastes really delicious. Simple and quick recipe too. This can also be served as an evening snack. Adding red chilli powder increases the spicy level but the same can be prepared only with gunpowder too..  I served with these fried lidlis with coconut chutney. . Alternatively onion raita can also be served...

Ingredients :

6-7 Idlis, chopped into four pieces
2 Tbsp Oil ( Gingelly Oil )
1/2 Tsp Mustard seeds
1 Tsp Urad dal
2 Sprigs of curry leaves
1/2 Tsp Chilli powder
1/4 Tsp Turmeric powder
A pinch of Hing
2 Tbsp Idly Milagai podi / Gun powder
Salt ( If necessary )
Coriander leaves for garnishing

Method :

Heat oil in a pan and add the mustard seeds.

Once it starts spluttering, add the urad dal followed by curry leaves and hing.

Add chilli powder and turmeric powder followed by the cubed Idlis.

Toss well and sprinkle gun powder over the idlis and mix evenly.

Simmer the flame and cook till the idlis turns little crispy.

Once done, garnish with coriander leaves and remove from the flame.

Serve hot.

Serving Options :

Serve hot with Coconut chutney or Onion raita.

Note :

Adjust the quantity of chilli powder and gun powder according to your spicy level.
