Capsicum Curry



This is one of the easiest and tasty curry prepared using green bell peppers / Capsicum. The onions along with tomato and green chillies are sautéed and ground into fine paste to give a gravy consistency. And finally, the sautéed capsicum pieces are added and further cooked to get a delicious curry. This curry goes well with Roti, Phulka or Paratha.

Ingredients:

4 Tbsp Oil 
2 Capsicum / Green Bell pepper, Chopped 
2 Onions, Chopped 
1 Big Tomato, Chopped 
3 Green chillies, Chopped 
1 Tsp Ginger Garlic paste 
1/2 Tsp Red chilli powder 
1/2 Tsp Coriander powder 
1/4 Tsp Turmeric powder 
1/4 Tsp Garam masala 
Salt to taste

Method :

Saute chopped capsicum in 2 Tbsp oil until it becomes half cooked and remove from the pan. Keep aside.

Add 1 tbsp oil to the same pan and add onions followed by ginger garlic paste.

Saute till the raw smell of ginger garlic goes off and add green chillies followed by tomato.

Saute till the tomato turns soft and remove from the flame.

Cool and grind the onion - tomato mixture into fine paste by adding little water.

Now add the remaining oil to the pan and add red chilli powder followed by turmeric powder, coriander powder and garam masala. ( Do not burn the masala powder ).

Add the ground paste along with the required amount of salt and cook till the oil gets separates from the gravy.

Now add the sautéed capsicum and cook for another couple of minutes.

Garnish with coriander leaves and remove from the flame.

Serve.


Serving Options :

Serve with Roti or Paratha.
