Ingredients :
Half Coconut, grated or cut into pieces
10 Dry Red chilliesSmall piece of Tamarind ( approx 1/2 Tbsp Tamarind pulp )
1 Onion, Chopped
2 Tbsp Roasted Bengal Gram dal ( Potukadalai )
Salt to taste
1 Tbsp Oil
1 Tsp Mustard seeds
1 Tsp Urad dal
Add coconut pieces, red chillies, tamarind, dal and salt to a mixie and grind coarsely.
Add the chopped onion and grind to fine paste adding water.For tempering, heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, once it starts spluttering, add the urad dal.
Add tempering to the ground chutney.
Serve with Idli or dosa.

This coconut chutney is my fav. I also prepare same ingredients just add garlic cloves. Very delicious chutney.
