Mushroom n Mint Ragi Adai

Everyone knew that Breakfast is an important meal of a day, so lots of nutritious menu's has to be included to make our self healthy and fit. My today's recipe is also a healthy filling breakfast which has mushrooms in it. Mushroom, a low calorie content vegetable has lots of nutritious value which is used in stir fry, gravy, briyani, sandwiches etc... Actually lots of delicious starters and main courses can be prepared using this. My mom never tasted mushrooms so I prepared pepper mushroom fry for her long back, from that she became a big fan of mushrooms but she never tries at home. So whenever she comes here I make sure to prepare mushrooms for her. And yesterday for a change, I made a twist by adding mushrooms in Ragi Adai and served it for her. The taste was very different from the regular adai and she loved it. Addition of mint also enhanced the flavor of it. Ragi is also equally very good for health as it contains fiber and helps to lower the cholesterol. Ragi is also best for weight control, diabetes and for cooling the body heat. Perfect breakfast to start a healthy day.

Ingredients :
  • 1 Cup Ragi Flour
  • 1 Onion, Finely chopped
  • 2 Green chillies, finely chopped
  • Handful of pudina leaves, finely chopped
  • 4-5 Mushrooms, finely chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Water for kneading

Method :

Finely chop the onion, green chillies and pudina /  mint leaves or chop them together using chopper.

Measure one cup of ragi flour in a bowl.
Add the finely chopped onions, green chillies and mint leaves.

Now add the finely chopped mushrooms and salt.

Sprinkle water little by little and knead to prepare dough.

Divide the dough and make balls.
Heat dosa pan and smear oil.
Simmer the flame, place the ball on the tawa and slowly tap the dough to form Adai shape.

Smear oil and cook for 2 minutes.
Flip the other side and cook again.
Once done, remove from flame and serve.

Serving Options :

Serve Ragi Adai with Coconut chutney.
