Here comes the third variety of chutney using Vadagam and along with this, I have used the peels of bottle gourd to make it more tasty and healthy. Vadagam is a Tamilnadu seasoning which is generally used in Sambhar, Kuzhambu and Kootu. Chutney can also be prepared using it.

Check out the above recipe link for more information about Vadagam. This chutney goes well with Curd rice and Plain rice. And also, this can be served along with Dosa. Adjust the quantity of red chilli according to taste bud.
Ingredients :
1 Tbsp Oil
1/2 Cup Bottle gourd Peel, finely chopped
1/4 Cup Coconut, grated
2 Tbsp Vadagam / Seasoning
1 Tbsp Urad dal
3 - 4 Dry red chillies
Small piece of Tamarind
Salt to taste
Method :
Heat oil in a pan and add urad dal.
Fry it for half a minute and vadagam followed by red chillies, bottle gourd peel, coconut and tamarind piece.
Saute it for about 3 - 4 minutes or until the peel gets cooked.
Once done, remove from the flame and cool the mixture.
Grind into fine paste or little coarse by adding the required quantity of salt and water.
Transfer it to a bowl and serve.
Tadka / Thalimpu is optional.
Serving Options :
Serve with Plain rice or Curd rice.
