Cabbage & Mixed Sprouts Stir Fry / Diet Friendly Recipe - 63 / #100dietrecipes


Cabbage & Sprouts stir fry or poriyal can be served as a side dish for kuzhambu varieties or as salad. The regular stir fry is given a healthy twist to include protein rich ingredients in our regular menu. In this recipe, I have used mixed sprouts which can also be substituted with any one variety of sprouts. To make it more nutritious, include more veggies like broccoli, carrot, red cabbage etc.

Ingredients :

1 Tsp Olive Oil  
1/4 Tsp Mustard seeds
1/2 Tsp Cumin / Jeera seeds
1 Onion, Finely chopped
2 Green chillies, slitted
1 Cup Cabbage, grated
1/2 Cup Mixed Sprouts ( Horse gram, Cow pea, Black chickpeas, Green gram )
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves for garnishing

Method :

Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds.

Once it starts spluttering, add jeera seeds followed by chopped onion and green chillies.

Saute for a minute and add the grated cabbage.

Saute and add the mixed sprouts along with the required amount of salt.

Simmer the flame, sprinkle 1 tbsp of water and cook till the cabbage gets cooked.

Garnish with coriander leaves and switch off the flame.

Serve.


Serving Options :

Serve with Sambhar rice, Rasam rice or Kara kuzhambu.
